As a level 18 nightfall character can I go to prophecies and do all those missions from the beginning? Do I have to go all the way back to AC? I got off at Lions Arch, got the Report to White Mantle, and then it disappeared off the quest log and I can't get it back.

You can go to other campaigns and do all missions (needed for Protector and Guardian titles). And yes you have to travel to Ascalon City to do the Northern Wall mission... not sure about the disappearing quest (other than it is probably one of the zillion bugs in this game) but i think you still can do the mission.

About the quest, have you looked in both 'Kryta Quests' and 'Primary Quests'? Maybe it was just a really short quest and you did it without realising.
About the missions, it is possible to go back to Ascalon City and do the missions. However, since the Ascalon/Shiverpeaks stuff would have taken place while you were in Istan, no side quests will be available and the missions will not give you any rewards. Unless you want to complete the Protector/Guardian/Cartographer/Vanquisher titles, there isn't really much reason to go back (note that this is the same for Proph chars in Istan). If you want to play this content, you'll need to make a character native to Prophecies.

And make sure when you go to a new campaign to pick up the campaign's storybook!

"Report to the White Mantle" takes you to the D'Alessio Seaboard mission. IF you haven't been there and don't have the quest, all you need to do is to go west from Lion's Arch, staying along the south edge of the zone.
There isn't anything that will lead a factions/Nightfall character to the early areas of Prophecies. But you can travel back to the beginning and go from there. There will be no quests available to foreign characters in places before LA, but you'll still be able to do the missions. It's not hard to find someone running from LA to Ascalon City in LA, if you want to go that route. |

If you want to do the early prophesies missions you have to get to Ascalon.
You have to explore by heading east from Lions Arch and find the rout back through the shiverpeaks to Ascalon City which is where you start the prophesies campaign and do the missions and quests till you get back to Lions Arch. You should be able to do almost everything except presearing though the early stuff will be very easy. |

Just walk out of Frontier Gate, follow the road that goes North and you will get to the Ruins of Surmia outposts in a minute. If you hold ALT, there are many roadsigns on the way.
